Jenna from Northern California shares her experience as a surrogate and working with Family Creations.
From a young age I knew I wanted to be a mom, and when the time came it was easy for my husband and I. But as friends struggled with creating their families, it became very clear how blessed my family was to be in existence. I never had to wonder what my children would be like. I never had to go through crazy fertility treatments. I never had to start the process of adoption. I was so wrecked and convicted by this realization that I had to do something.
Jump ahead through all the researching and reading to choosing Family Creations as our agency to work with. This was one of the best decisions we made. As you can imagine, that’s a huge commitment and it could have been really scary or nerve racking. It wasn’t in the least! The staff was very professional and thorough. They always explained everything in steps so as not to overwhelm me and described each step thoroughly. I always knew that if I had any questions or concerns they would be taken seriously and responded to quickly. I worked with several people on their staff and it was obvious that building families and making dreams come true is very important to Family Creations. They offered me a great deal of support and for that I will always be very thankful.
Once everything was in order it was just a matter of finding the right family to join forces with. My profile never even went online! My case manager instantly knew which family would be right, and after a lovely Skype date, we all knew it was a match made in heaven! The intended parents were so sweet and we developed a great friendship.
I can easily say that my experience as a surrogate was absolutely amazing. It’s almost overwhelming to be able to give such a precious gift so wanted, loved, and appreciated by such deserving parents. To watch them hold their baby safely in their arms was the most incredible moment. I know someday I’ll look back on my life and all the things I’ve experienced and being a surrogate will easily be one of the best things I’ve ever done.
