Modern Technology Matches Parents Around the World With U.S. Egg Donors

Today's egg donation and surrogacy utilizes the very latest advances in medical and fertility technology. Why shouldn't the matching of parents with extraordinary egg donors employ the same level of advanced technology?

At Family Creations, we use the latest in computer technology, Internet access, website accessibility and videoconferencing to make our resources available to clients around the world. Our list of international intended parents spans the globe, including:

  Africa
  Asia
  Australia
  Canada
  Europe
  Mexico
  Middle East
  Russia
  Scandinavia
  The Americas

It's not much more complicated matching egg donors and surrogates with international intended parents. Family Creations is the expert. Here are the answers to questions participants in our international egg donor and international surrogacy programs most frequently ask:

Travel:
How often will I come to the United States and for how long?

At least once for the IVF process to take place. That is one thing that will never be done remotely. Additionally, some physicians also require a personal meeting with their patients for an initial consultation at the very beginning of the egg donor program. If the physician you select wants a personal meeting, then you will need to visit the United States twice.

Videoconferencing or telephone calls:
Family Creations' experience is that many physicians now substitute a telephone call or videoconference for the initial face-to-face consultation. Whether by personal interview, telephone call or videoconference, the purpose is to review your history, discuss the steps of the egg donor or surrogate program and to answer all of your questions.

If you are an international intended parent and a telephone or videoconference consultation is your preference, we will help you find a qualified physician who will accommodate your needs.

Timing of the process:
Expect the overall time spent in the United States to complete the embryo transfer to be between 1-2 weeks. It varies with each intended parent and clinic. The sequence of events goes like this:

  Egg retrieval
Embryo transfer takes place 3-5 days after egg retrieval
You will rest comfortably in bed for 1-3 days following embryo transfer
Once cleared by your physician you may travel back home
Post-transfer monitoring and your pregnancy test take place at your medical facility near your home.

Legal issues:
What legal protection do parents have and is there a legal agreement with the egg donor?

As a full service international egg donor program and international surrogacy program, Family Creations will refer you to an attorney who specializes in this area of the law. Your attorney will draft the agreement between you and your egg donor. This Agreement contains the specific rights and responsibilities of both parties.

A different attorney will represent your egg donor. Both parties will reach consensus on the Agreement. Once both parties sign the Agreement, the egg donation cycle commences.

Does your geographic distance give you a feeling of removal from the process?
We would be surprised if it didn't. Know that Family Creations is the leader in international egg donor and international surrogacy programs. We have years of experience working with our many international clients. Of course, living far away from the process can feel a bit daunting.

Family Creations provides you with your personal case manager. This specially trained and experienced professional will guide you through the entire egg donation process: From egg donor selection to embryo transfer. Your case manager's responsibility is to coordinate all the moving parts of the program. The team members involved include:

  You
  Your Family Creations case manager
  Your egg donor
  Your physician
  Both attorneys

Everyone at Family Creations is dedicated to you, your egg donor and successfully starting your family. Our job is to make you comfortable and to keep you completely informed every step of the way.
