We understand that selecting a donor is one of the most important decisions you will make. It is important to identify the characteristics you hope to find in a donor. Things such as background, interests, family health history, hair color and eye color are examples of some of the traits that future parents think about. And while these things are important to consider throughout the selection process, we find that clients ultimately select a donor based on a connection that is felt after reading the donor's profile.
You will notice that each donor’s status is identified as either available, reserved, or in cycle.
AVAILABLE DONORS
This means the donor is currently available to begin a cycle. If you are interested in working with a donor marked as "available," we recommend you contact our office so we can take you through the steps of reserving her. You can reserve any donor for two weeks with a deposit. This gives you time to be sure that she is, in fact, the donor with whom you would like to work.
RESERVED DONORS
This means that a client has made a deposit to hold a donor for two weeks. If you are interested in working with a donor marked as "reserved," please call our office so we can place your name on a waiting list in case the donor becomes available again. There is no obligation to be placed on the list and you will be notified if the donor becomes available.
IN-CYCLE DONORS
In-Cycle donors are donors that have been "matched" and are currently going through the various stages of the egg donation process. If you are interested in working with a donor marked as "in cycle" please call our office so we can place your name on a waiting list. If the donor becomes available after her cycle has been completed, you will be notified.
We at Family Creations work tirelessly to locate qualified donor candidates and we hold interviews with donors daily. We recommend logging in to view our donors frequently because new profiles are added on a weekly and most often daily basis. Upon reviewing profiles, we recommend contacting our staff if there is a short list of donors with whom you are interested in working. There are many donors who tend to be selected, or "matched," very quickly, so it is important to reserve the candidate with whom you hope to work.
